I have tried in my surgical paintings to portray the surgeon dedicated, caring, hard working individual I have observed by the thousands in my thirty-five year career as a Chief and Professor of surgery. Still, my surgeon series is but an extension of the joys I have experienced ‘as a surgeon’. “ Joe Wilder M.D.
Dr. Joe Wilder was Chief of Surgery at New York\’s Hospital for Joint Diseases and a Professor of Surgery at Mt. Sinai Medical School. Joe Wilder was featured in a PBS documentary “Ageless Heroes” he was one of ten chosen as ageless heroes selected for their great achievement.

What is a Giclee?

A Giclee is an excellent reproduction of the original painting on canvas. Giclees are a higher print quality than the traditional lithography and are more expensive to reproduce. Gicleeis a French term (pronounced “jee-clay”) which means to spray ink.
Many museums across the world have either hanging exhibitions of Giclees or have purchased prints for their permanent collections.
